A few months before I started this website, the “storm area 51” meme was still relevant. I didn’t know how to feel. On the one hand, I didn’t want anyone to actually get killed that day, but on the other, I really wanted to know what would happen if people did try to mob the place. I turned my confusion into a comic:
I didn’t explain it in the comic, but these are supposed to be Bright Sides from alternate dimensions. You thought Silver Lining was the only one? I didn’t have a lot of characters back then. When the big day was near, I decided to draw a comic where the two of them are actually protecting/attacking the site. I wanted to post in on the day of the “raid”, but then I thought, “What if something horrible happens that day?” I decided to post it one day before, so it didn’t look like I was making jokes about a tragedy right after it occurred. This is the comic I made:
Fortunately, there was no raid. As far as I know, nobody died. These comics look really bad compared to what I’m drawing nowadays. Remaking them would be pointless; the meme is already dead and buried. Still, I think it’s fun to go back and reminisce once in a while.
