It’s the beginning of June, so happy Pride Month! I’m happy that I get to celebrate it again, but I’m also a little disappointed in myself. I used to change my website’s logo to a rainbow one to celebrate this time of year. Depending on when you’re reading this, you might see it right now. Eventually, me and my fans grew tired of rainbow logos. I decided to try something different. I chose several flowers that were used as LGBT symbols (roses, violets and lillies) and made a logo out of them:
It took more work than just recoloring the standard logo, but it was a fun little project. The next year, I decided to used butterfiles, a transgender symbol:
Now that I got the most obvious symbols out of the way, I’m not sure what to do for this year. I looked up some LGBT symbols, but there was nothing that inspired me. I found out that the purple hand is used as symbol against anti-gay violence. I could draw a white wall with a bunch of purple handprints, but that’s probably too dark for a gag-a-day webcomic.
Back in the day, some fans suggested using my LGBT characters, but newcomers are just gonna be confused. Do you have an idea for a new Pride Month logo? Is the one I have right now okay the way it is? Let me know. And yes, this is an excuse for me to talk to you. I know I sound like a broken record, but I miss getting comments.
