Punch Code: the Full Story

It’s been almost two months since I’ve published Punch Code. I’ve referenced it in my webcomic a few times already, so I figured I should post the game’s story for the people who didn’t want to play it. Warning, this post will spoil the ending of Punch Code. If you don’t want the game spoiled, stop reading.

Let’s start with the opening cutscene. If you’re using a phone, you might wanna zoom in.

And then the game begins. Wanda goes through the city, the park, the industrial zone and finally the Botface factory. I know I’m skipping over a lot, but I want to focus on the story, not the gameplay. Near the end of the game, she reaches the boss.

Yes, that’s the guy from last week’s comic. He debuted in Punch Code. Unsurprisingly, Wanda can back up her bragging. She defeats Mr Botface and his Master Floorian.

Mr Botface’s workers aren’t that loyal to him. He treated them like objects, so he ended up getting treated like a punching bag.

Anyway, once that cutscene is finished, Wanda and TX2 go home while the player gets to see all the enemy names. The final image is the two of them happilly playing a game together.

The story is simple and predictable, but for a videogame, I think it serves its purpose. I don’t see anyone complaing about the stories of Mario games.
