It’s been a week and the game came to an end. You managed to name 28 accomplished women in the comment section. Even though it wasn’t a requirement, most of you talked a bit about their accomplishments. I appreciate you going the extra mile. I’m supposed to donate ten dollars to the National Breast Cancer Foundation plus one dollar for every mentioned woman, so I did that. I even added a little extra to cover taxes.
One of the most interesting parts of this charity is that we can see exactly who we helped. This is the message that I got after donating.
While I’m sure that Laura and NBCF will appreciate the money we raised, it’s pretty depressing how it’s not even one twentieth of the money she needs. Life saving goods and services should not be this expensive. Plenty of people have already talked about how bad American healthcare is, but it wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t bring it up in this situation.
But hey, even if it’s something as small as donating a few dollars, we all have the power to make things better. Don’t lose hope.
