Comment Highlights 17

It’s been a while since I struggled to come up with a Wednesday post. Even today, there’s several other things I could’ve done, but I figured, it’s been over four months since the last “Comment Highlights” and you guys enjoy them, so why not? Here’s some more comments that I found interesting, but I didn’t reply to the first time around.

Comic 336: The Ugliest Pattern

I drew a comic where I made fun of people who are selective about which statistics they believe in and which ones they dismiss. I got this question:

“99% of programmers quit right before they get the code to work… That’s not true, I just say that to myself in order to stay sane.”

Comic 338: Have an Ice Day at the Beach

In this comic, I drew Freedom and Safety in swimsuits. Obviously, the comments liked it. The one that particularly stood out is this one:

According to Google Translate, the comment is in Italian and it means, “What beautiful girls!”. It’s probably the only Italian comment I got on this site.

A few weeks ago, I asked people what ethnicity they think Freedom is. Most people picked something from North or South America. I wonder if Freedom could pass for Southern European. Then again, she would need tan lines for that.

Comic 345: Bright Side the Bright Sided Bright Side

That’s gotta be the dumbest title I ever came up with. Anyway, here’s a comment that I enjoyed:

Now I wonder who would win in a fight; Rudolph or Bambi. Rudolph has the ability to fly, but Bambi has experience in a fight. Death Battle, make an episode about this! If you can make “Smokey the Bear vs McGruff the Crime Dog”, you can make this.

Comic 358: The Weakness of My Steel

In the description of this comic, I said that TX2 has no sense of smell, taste or touch, but that he works with what he has. This is one of the replies:

As you can see, this comment is two years old. Technology is advancing faster than ever, so I googled “Can robots smell and taste?” The answer is “kind of”. Some robots do have sensors that let them indentify smells and tastes, but that’s not the same as actually feeling them. Maybe this is more of a philosophical question than a scientific one.

Comic 364: Behond, a Chicken!

The comic was inspired by the fact that, because humans are bipedal, they are prone to back pain. According to one comment, quadrupeds aren’t always safe.

I checked and it turns out that, because of their long spines and short ribs, dachschunds are prone to spinal problems. Maybe we could breed dachschunds with an extra pair of legs in the middle. Call it a centipede dog.

Now that I gave you that bit of nightmare fuel, it’s time for me to go. See you next time!
