Comment Highlights 13

It’s been almost four months since I’ve last singled out interesting comments. If you were tired of waiting, keep in mind that I’d run out if I did this too often. Let’s keep going in what I hope are appropriately long intervals.

Comic 257: Dress to the Ninety-Nines

In this comic, Double Tap is carrying a katana with five blades. It’s a flashy, but impractical weapon. One of the comments disagreed.

When is the Quintiplet Katana gonna be useful? Then again, I’m currently playing Tears of the Kingdom and one of the most annoying bosses is a three-headed dragon. Maybe it would be useful there.

Comic 260: The Start of This Mess, Part 1

According to the lore of my comic, Flicker City is a place where people who got kicked out of their own country go to. Everyone is an immigrant of a descendant of an immigrant. One of the comments made me think.

According to Google, a micronation is “a small area or political entity that claims national sovereignty but is not recognized by other sovereign states.”

Well, Flicker City is recognized by other countries (it’s been around for hundreds of years), so I’m not sure if it counts as one. Does the Vatican City count?

Comic 265: The Start of This Mess, Part 6

The story about the founding of Flicker City continues. One of the comments asked me this:

In a later comic, I decided to add a statue of Holly as a subtle reference, so yeah, they do. I hope I didn’t take too long to answer.

Comic 269: When a Bad Man Goes to War

In this comic, Freedom shares her opinion on politicians who start wars. Needless to say, it’s not a positive one.

According to the US President Franklin D. Roosevelt, everyone in the world has a right to four freedoms: freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom from want and freedom from fear. I suppose the freedom to live in peace is covered by the last two.

On a side note, you should check out Normal Rockwell’s illustrations of the freedoms. He was a pretty good artist.

Comic 271: Absentee Academy

I’m not sure if I already told this story, but Tamashii’s shirt used to be dark red and gray. I had several people ask me if she was bleeding, so I changed the dark red to a more purple-ish tone. That ought to solve the problem… unless the reader is slightly colorblind. I can’t prepare for everything.

And that’s it. I admit, not every comment gives me something interesting to say, but as long as you’re not being a mindless hater, I do enjoy reading them. Goodbye and live free!
