When I was a kid, I heard and read this story so many times, it’s etched into my memory. Not that I’m complaining. I though it would be fun if I shared it with you. If you already know about it, see you on Friday.

A father was going through a village, riding on a donkey. His son was walking beside them. They crossed paths with a villager, who turned to the father, “You son should ride the donkey, your legs are stronger.”

The father got off the donkey and the son got on. They kept walking until they came across another villager, who turned to the son, “Your father should ride the donkey, your legs are younger.”

The two of them decided to ride the donkey together. Unfortunately, a passerby villager complained, “You can’t both ride the donkey, you’re too heavy for it!”

They both got off the donkey. A fourth villager decided to ask them, “Why are you both walking? Shouldn’t one of you be riding?”

The father turned to the son, “We’ve both had our turn, now it’s time for the donkey to ride.”

The two of them tied the donkey’s legs to a large stick. They each grabbed one end and carried the donkey through the village. Everyone in the village gave them weird looks. The father eventually had enough and dropped the donkey, “Anyone who thinks they can please the entire world is dumber than this donkey! I’ll do what I’ve always done and people can say whatever they want.”

The father got on the donkey. He rode it and his son walked next to him. The end.

So, does this story apply to content creators? Eh, kind of. It’s not a bad idea to listen to the fans, but you gotta draw the line somewhere, especially if you have a large following. As I’ve said before, I’m never gonna forget this tale.
